My Testimony To All Guardians/Parents of Sick Children

THE PROBLEM

My son, at the time, was 16 months old and severely sick. He had a fever of 102.7 degrees for about a week, a horrible rash over his whole body, runny and stuffy nose, rattling cough, and the list goes on. During this time he had an urgent care visit, chest x-rays, blood work to check his red and white cell count, a blood culture, a strep test, Augmentin prescription (antibiotic), a regular Dr. visit with a different doctor for a different opinion. His father and I were giving him cold showers, keeping him in just a diaper, freeze pops, ice water, and Tylenol and Motrin rotating every three hours. He didn’t sleep at night because he would wake up after three hours and have a fever again. He had an appetite but was not be able to eat because his nose was so clogged that he couldn’t breathe in enough air to eat. His father and I had exhausted all of our options and didn’t want to give the antibiotic nor did we want to keep giving Tylenol and Motrin and we didn’t realize how much we had used until we had to buy more. It was so sad to watch our son got through so much agony and we didn’t know what to do.

THE SOLUTION

I had an appointment with Dr. Li (who was making a special trip just for me, late at night) and I had brought my son with me. As I was getting acupuncture I was explaining about my son’s symptoms and the struggle his father and I were having. She said “I can help”. Music to my ears, but Dad was quite hesitant because Dr. Li said she would use the cupping method and I had cupping earlier in the week and it left hickey marks. I was trying to convince his father to let Dr. Li help us. After a private talk between us we decided to give it a try because we had nothing to lose.

THE CHINESE HEALING

Dr. Li gathered the items she needed to do the cupping. She said “hold him close to you with his head on your shoulder and calm him, I also don’t want him to see the flame”. So I held him close, she did the first cupping on the upper middle of his back to pull out his fever and heat from his body. It did not hurt him at all but left an instant bruise. Then Dr. Li said “ok let me do cupping on his chest to open his sinuses but cover his eyes so he does not see the flame”. So I held him and she did the cupping in the upper center of his chest. Then we did his back and his chest one more time.

THE RESULTS

My son’s fever never came back, he was instantly breathing through his nose, and his demeanor was happy and playful. The bruises went away in three days. No medication was ever given again. Dr. Li will always be my first source for advice and healing. Elijah continues to see Dr. Li.

I have suffered with infertility and reproductive issues my entire adult life and I am now 37 years old. I recently sought out the assistance of the Jones Institute in an effort to get pregnant. Over the course of the last 8+ years, I have gone through countless surgeries, tests and 15 medicated cycles with various reproductive endocrinologists. Along the way, I have suffered several losses, disappointments and heartaches.

In the middle of my first cycle with the Jones Institute, I was told that my uterine lining was decreasing instead of increasing as it should. I was told that unless that changed within a few days, my cycle would be cancelled. I had already spent several thousand dollars between medications, blood draws, ultrasounds, office visits, etc. to get to that point. I frantically asked my physician if there was anything at all I could do to help my chances. He said "acupuncture."

I called Ms. Li and explained the circumstances. She made me an appointment right away. Over the course of the next several days, she met me at her office outside of her normal hours to make sure I got a treatment because she genuinely cares. I only had a few short days to get my uterine lining where it needed to be. After three treatments in three days, I returned to the Jones Institute for an ultrasound to determine if my uterine lining was sufficient enough to proceed with my insemination. Much to my surprise, my lining had not only increased, it had increased to a "perfect" range and all within only three days.

I cannot thank Mrs. Li enough for helping me. Infertility treatments and cycles are very emotional times. There are financial pressures, physical discomfort and just a real rollercoaster of emotions involved. The fact that she was able to salvage my cycle so quickly is amazing. Not only did she salvage my cycle, she also gave me great comfort and great peace of mind. I thank her from the bottom of my heart.

I would strongly recommend Mrs. Li to anyone undergoing infertility treatments. I honestly feel for the first time in many years that I have a fighting chance of getting pregnant.

I have been coming to Dr. Li for only a few weeks, but her treatments have helped me tremendously. I've had peripheral neuropathy of unknown origin for about 7 years, and the last couple years is has degraded to a severe case according to the neurologists. My feet and hands have constant "pins and needles", numbness, loss of mobility, hot or cold feelings, you name it -- but the worst is the recurring stabbing electric-type pain that flares up for several seconds frequently through the day. It was impacting my work, my home life, everything. But even after just the first acupuncture treatment, that stabbing pain has significantly reduced in frequency as well as intensity. Thank you!

Dear Dr.Li,

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your outstanding dedication to healing others. I originally came to you for help with my weight on 1/30/07.While I was in your office, my husband called to tell me that our 23 month old son had a high fever, his very first. It was time for my son's nap so we waiting to see if he was any better when he woke. I hated the thought of taking him to the hospital where we would inevitably end up waiting for hours and still have no results when we left. I was also concerned about his immune system being compromised and being exposed to more germs in the waiting room. I just did not want to put my son through that stressful situation of waiting and the possibility that they would want to take blood or other samples. As a mother I didn't want my son to suffer anymore than he already was.

After he woke from his nap he was hotter than ever and we called you. You made the extra effort and met us at your office before your next client was expected. You preformed a cupping technique on my sons back and, although I was distressed by my son's reaction, I knew in my heart that is was for his betterment. To my husband and my surprise his fever was gone within the next 15 minutes during our ride home.

Again, on the 5th of July, my son had another extremely high fever with no other symptoms. As a mother I couldn't do anything but watch him as he slept most of the day with no desire to eat or drink. Finally after trying to bring down his fever on our own, and not getting the desired results, we called you. Although you had finished your appointments for the day you told us to meet you at the office as soon as we could (it was within 15 minutes of our call). My son again was very upset by the cupping but this time we knew what to expect and we knew it would benefit him. He needed more cupping than the first time but I believe it was because this time he was fighting something stronger and more severe. This time the cupping session took a bit longer to take full effect due to the severity of whatever was causing the fever. However, the fever broke within 5 hours from the cupping session and we were again so relieved that we did not have to result to medications, such as antibiotics, that we believe are not healthy or beneficial. My son was back to normal the following day and had a wonderful appetite. Something that I don't believe would have happened had we resorted to taking him to the hospital.

If there is anyone out there with a child who is ill and suffering I would highly recommend that they try your services first before anything else. I will always come to you for the health of my child in the future. I do believe that modern medicine has it's place and that it does benefit people when they have gotten past the point of natural healing being effective. Dr. Li is a great way to maintain health and vitality and keep people out of the doctor's office. I know because she helped keep our son out of the doctor's office twice and I am so very thankful.

Dr. Li, your knowledge and expertise in your field is priceless to us. It is worth the benefits our son has received as a result of the natural healing techniques you use. For 3 weeks I had been experiencing sharp pains in my shoulder and neck and I had pain in my knee. The pain continued to increase until I finally made an appointment with Dr. Xiao Hong Li. The consultation lasted at least 30 minutes, at which time she went over everything with me. She took some of that time getting to know me and making me feel very comfortable with her. After only 3 treatments, I am no longer having any pain in my shoulder or neck and none in my knee.

~ Just because I am getting older does not mean I have to "feel old"!

Oh yes, I wanted to mention that during the original consultation Dr. Li noticed I bit my fingernails and said she could help me quit. Needless to say I was very skeptical, since I had been biting them for over 45 years. I walked into her office a lifelong nail biter and since that first visit, I actually quit biting my nails! Even I can't believe it!!!

There are only a couple of things that I am truly terrified of. Among these things I can sadly include spiders, heights, and up until recently, needles. There is just something about a sharp object being driven into my skin and muscle that just really does not have any appeal to me. I used to scream and cry every time I was supposed to be getting a physical, because there was no way I was going to let some random doctor stab me and take my blood from me. They usually gave up on me, and I was fine with that. If someone had told me two years ago that I would have anywhere between ten and twenty needles piercing me at once, I probably would have run off and hid, having a complexion of something like a ghost.

I went, and still go, to Dr. Li because I have ms, or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I get stomach problems on a weekly basis, depending on what I eat and drink, how much stress I have, and probably a million other factors. I had tried several different types of medication from my family practitioner, and well, nothing worked very well. So after several years of having stomach problems and missing severe amounts of school, my mother and I discussed trying an alternative treatment or getting more tests done. Now, having an upper GI done is not fun, and it makes me want to vomit, so I decided that it was time to try needles at an acupuncture clinic.

My family lives in Chesterfield, VA, outside of Richmond, and while there are some acupuncturists in this area, personal and professional research showed that none of them were really any good, that they made the treatment painful, and weren't exactly friendly. However, we found the address to Dr. Li's clinic, some one hundred and twenty miles away at Virginia Beach. So we made the long trip once, deciding that if the treatment didn't work, we wouldn't come back. Fortunately, the treatment did work, and very well at that. Not only could I finally eat without having constant problems, but I've put on twenty pounds since my treatment has begun. I had been losing weight due to my ms, and I was, as my girlfriend puts it, emaciated. I've been going to the clinic for almost a year now, and I can honestly say that Dr. Li's acupuncture treatment works splendidly, and has been the only thing to help me with my problem.

My 84 year old, mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 3 years ago. This illness has mainly effective her speech. She stuttered badly at first and now was at the point where she could only make noises. Sometimes I could understand her but most of the time I couldn’t. She finally would just try to show me what she wanted. She spoke very few clear words, her favorite being “Hey”!

On Dec 19, 2005, She had worn out the cartilage in both knees years ago and was told she needed a knee replacement in her left knee. She also had arthritis in both knees. Despite this she had been completely ambulatory and doing stairs until Dec 19, 2005. That morning she woke up in terrible pain. Every time she went to walk here was excruciating pain in her right knee when she took a step. She was finally able to verbalize and jester that she wanted to go to the hospital. Mom has a very high threshold for pain so I knew this must be serious pain. She described it as being like “fire. I called an ambulance and off we went to the hospital. After an exam the doctor said all they could do was give her medication for the pain. So home we went with a prescription of Vicadin. We did a follow up visit to our doctor who gave us refills of the medication and ordered home health care for a nurse, and physical therapist and a home health care aid. Mom needed a wheelchair because it was a too painful to walk. The pain did lessen with the medication but she was still in a lot of pain.

Dec 27, she again woke up with severe pain. Since I hadn’t seen any home health care people I again had Mom taken to the hospital via ambulance. This time she was prescribed onycodine and sent home. The medication decreased the pain but it was still pretty bad. None of the health professionals had any good suggestion on what to do next or how do decrease the pain further. I didn’t like having my Mom take the onycodine as I don’t believe narcotics but it seemed the only choice at the moment. I talked to a dear friend of mine, Elise Wolfe. She suggested acupuncture and referred me to Dr. Li. What did I have to loose? At this point I’d try anything. I am a Reiki master and a Tai Chi practitioner so I had experience with the success of eastern and energy healing.

Dr Li had us first come three days in a row. Then suggested coming 3x/week for 3 weeks. After the first treatment Mom was willing to continue, so we did. By treatment 4, during her session Mom didn’t have any pain. About the 3rd week of treatment Mom had no more pain. This included not only the pain to her knees but also the arthritis pain in her back. I slowly weaned her off all pain medication as well and she is doing just fine. No pain! Her hearing has also improved a little as well as her speech. In March we started going 2/week and that’s where we are now. Mom is happier than she has been in a while because she is in no pain and therefore her quality of life is much better. It makes me a happy camper, too!

I am a 46 year old high school science teacher from Georgia. Two and one half years ago, I began to experience numbness and pain in my toes and in the fingers of one hand. My physician sent me to several specialists; each conducted a multitude of tests from MRIs to blood tests for autoimmune disorders to an electromyography to determine nerve conduction. I've been tested for MS, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lyme Disease and a myriad of other disorders, all to no avail. Meanwhile, the numbness continued to worsen as did the pain. My energy level was so low that at times it was all I could do to get up in the morning, go to work and get home. Any other activities, including working on my dissertation for my doctoral degree, were often out of the question due to this extreme fatigue.

I was introduced to Dr. Li by my aunt, a resident of Norfolk and one of her patients. She spoke to Dr. Li about my condition and my frustration with the course my medical "treatment" was taking. Dr. Li believed she could help me and told my aunt that she would be happy to treat me while I was visiting. I arrived on Saturday and had my first treatment Sunday morning. When I left Dr. Li's clinic after the first treatment, I had complete sensation in the toes on my left foot In addition to the acupuncture, Dr. Li had me begin to take several Chinese herbs for both the numbness and pain as well as for hot flashes that I had begun to experience over the last several months. I continued to have treatments each day (including Thanksgiving Day!) with extremely positive results. By the end of my third treatment I had full sensation in all ten toes and all ten fingers, something that had not occurred in over two and a half years. I've gone from four to five fairly intense hot flashes each day to one mild one, helping me to experience a better sleep.

I cannot begin to describe how impressed I am with Dr. Li's knowledge, skill, and dedication to her patients. There was none of the usual "let's try this test" or "take this pill because it might help." Instead, she listened to what my body was trying to tell us both and began to treat me, the patient, instead of treating the symptoms. I will be coming back this summer to see both my aunt and Dr. Li; I am immensely grateful to them both!

After 1 treatment, LET ME REPEAT ONE TREATMENT. I can't believe it. I have stopped biting my nails. After 30 years with this nasty habit. I simply have no urge to bite. My nails are growing stronger and healthier. My stress level has decreased rapidly as well as my blood pressure.

With a few herbs that she prescribed, which I only had to take for 2 weeks (The nastiest herbs I ever tasted...UGH!!, but they worked).

I will continue to use Dr. Li for health maintenance because there are real results. She has a great sense of humor, caring and very flexible to work with.

I started going to Xiao Hong Li about two months ago for my back pain. I am 15 years old and I had been having this back pain for at least 9 months without any relief before I started going to acupuncture. I felt immediate results after my first session with Mrs. Li and I am continuing to go there to get full relief. I also had pain in my right arm from tennis elbow and I asked Mrs. Li to help me. After one session my arm felt much better. As I continue to go to weekly sessions I feel much better every week and I have a lot less back pain. Mrs. Li has made it easier for me to be comfortable and do things that couldn't when I was in pain.

Before having acupuncture with Xiao I suffered with not only eczema but a slew of other skin diseases. I have eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and well the list is endless. I still suffer some break outs from time to time but they are not as frequent and severe and their duration is not as long. I never thought I could have soft silky skin but now I do. People do not stare or ask what is wrong with me nor do they pull their children away with disgust. They no longer make rude comments like, "thank God your child does not have your skin." When they see my son with me (who I might add has perfect skin). Unless you have skin problems you will never know the relief a treatment that works can be. I have been to other acupuncturist and Xiao is the best. I tried taking with me to North Carolina where I relocated but she declined. So I hope you find her services as liberating as I.

I came to see Xiao Li on the advice of my chiropractor. I was in deep depression, in counseling, and on quite a bit of medication for about six months, and nothing was helping me. She suggested trying acupuncture and I did.

When I met with Xiao Li, she had told me she was successful in treating other patients with depression. I was desperate and afraid to do this procedure, but I came to her once or twice a week, and after about one month, I began to feel like myself.

I've been treated by Dr. Li for over a year, and now I come once every three weeks.

I've suffered with depression since I had my first child 25 years ago. I've had 10 episodes, which lasted about seven months each time.

By seeing Dr. Li I'm hoping that she can control the chances of getting depressed again..

Recently I had the misfortune of coming down with a very severe bronchial infection. I had absolutely no energy, could not take a deep breath and had horrible cough that was non productive. I went to the doctor and was given antibiotics and albutyral to open my bronchial passages, but after a week I was still feeling exactly the same or perhaps even slightly worse. I was very scared because I never had felt that way before. I went back to the doctor and she changed my antibiotics, gave me another type of inhaler and wanted to put me on steroids. By then I realized I needed alternative treatment.

I contacted Dr. Li who saw me immediately. After just one treatment I could not believe the difference in my energy level. I continued treatment for the next 3 days and was absolutely amazed at how rapidly 1 improved. During the course of my illness I missed 8 days of work and was having trouble even getting out of bed. After my third acupuncture treatment with Dr. Li, I felt I had about 75% of my strength return. My cough and the congestion in my chest diminished significantly with each visit. I never used the 2nd inhaler and did not fill the prescription for steroids.

This experience has opened my eyes to the myriad of benefits that acupuncture has on the body. I was aware that it was beneficial for other ailments but did not realize that being treated by Dr. Li could so powerfully impact one's overall health and well being

I first came for acupuncture in June of 2004 for an eye twitch that I had been having for over 2 years. It wasn't painful but was constant and spreading from my lower eyelid to my upper lid. It was very annoying.

I had seen my neurologist and she had prescribed a medication. After a year with no relief and really bad side effects I decided to try acupuncture. A friend who is an M.D. gave me Dr. Li's number. Within 2 treatments I began to see relief. After about 12 to 15 treatments I had no symptoms for 3 months! The twitching began to return, so I came right back. it is now March 2005. With one treatment a month as a preventive I have been able to be twitch free. It definitely worked for me! I also have more energy.

My husband and I want to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Li for helping us to conceive when doctors told us we couldn’t have children on our own due to diminished ovarian reserve, endometriosis, and male factor infertility. We were to begin a costly and emotionally demanding in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment in January, 2005 but thankfully, never made it that far. I began weekly acupuncture treatments starting November 9, 2004. There has been some research to suggest that acupuncture before and just after IVF increases success rates so that’s why I thought to try acupuncture. What did we have to lose anyway? The weekly acupuncture sessions were easy and relaxing. On some occasions I would feel a warmth radiate over my body or a heaviness where the needles were inserted, whereas other times, I didn’t feel anything except relaxed. The month before I was to begin my IVF treatment and after 20 months of trying on our own, I discovered I was pregnant – naturally! It was the shock of a lifetime and my husband and I couldn’t have been happier. We are now four months into the pregnancy and the baby is doing great. He/she is due on August 29, 2005. I have continued my weekly acupuncture treatments throughout the first trimester (she does a different treatment now that I’m pregnant so as not to cause uterine activity) and will cut down to once a month in the second.

I highly recommend that any couple having trouble conceiving naturally or artificially give Dr. Li a try. The amount of money you will pay will never amount to the cost of IVF and the physical and emotion toll is non-existent compared to the stress of infertility treatments. I am grateful that IVF exists for people like me who need artificial reproduction technology to conceive but I am relieved that I did not have to utilize it. Now we just have to anxiously await the arrival of our “miracle” baby.

Dr. Li is a miracle worker! Her expertise with acupuncture gets at the cause of a problem with lightning speed and she is able to turn around a seeming impossible situation. I am so grateful to be healed from shingles as a result of her excellent treatment.

I had been bitten by a brown recluse spider, which suppressed my immune system resulting in a voracious case of shingles. My doctor told me that the condition had remained latent in my body as a result of having measles as a child. This attacked my face centered on my left eye leaving it as a slit with deep pain. My future ability to see with this eye was in jeopardy.

I sought her help after my Eye Doctor's strict regime failed to clear up the infection. He could not understand why I was not responding after several treatments, and decided there must be something seriously wrong with me. But additional tests showed I was medically sound. So what was I to do?

As a last resort and at my wife's suggestion, I checked the yellow pages for an acupuncturist. I walked into her office barely able to see out of my left eye. Her optimism that this could be healed gave me great comfort and hope. After just one treatment, the swelling around my eye subsided considerably, and I was able to see again. Several treatments later the pain left and infection cleared up. Since then I have been pain free. Later she told me that she had never seen such a serious case of shingles.

Afterwards I saw an Optometrist for a check up and he told me that my shingles had not affected the sight in my eye and that I was very fortunate. He remarked that the treatment I received was very successful.

I am grateful to Dr. Li and for the healing power of God working through her to produce this miracle of healing. I also attribute this outcome to heart-felt prayer work as well.

One year ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer (DCIS stage 2.) As recommended, I had mammograms every year and complete annual physicals, and I thought I was perfectly healthy. The cancer diagnosis was devastating.

The doctors recommended a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy. I was in shock and very vulnerable and thought I had no alternative but to follow their recommendations. The mastectomy was performed and about 6 weeks later I was injected with chemotherapy drugs along with other drugs to counteract the side affects of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy was recommended to kill any cancer cells that might still be in my body. I wrestled with these drugs in my body for 2 weeks. I could not eat or sleep. I became weak and could not function and within 3 weeks, I had lost all my hair.

I knew if I continued these treatments, I would be bedridden and might not even survive, so I turned to God. Almost immediately, I was filled with a strong desire to stop the chemo and strengthen my immune system which God gave me to fight disease. Why should I destroy a perfectly healthy body with drugs if I could strengthen it to attack and kill any remaining cancer cells?

After much research, I opted for alternative medicine. A friend referred me to Dr. Li who began treating me with acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Almost immediately, my energy level increased and my hair grew back very quickly and the color of my hair changed from grey to auburn.

I just had another mammogram and physical exam in May and everything is okay.

I believe acupuncture is very effective in treating and curing many diseases. I highly recommend Dr. Li. She is the best.

Dear Li,

I just wanted to thank you for your help with the conception of the baby boy I am carrying now that is due June 30th, 2004. We had been trying to conceive for some time with no success and were receiving infertility treatment, including surgery to correct blocked tubes and a lot of scar tissue when I read about how acupuncture can help increase the chances of In Vitro Fertilization being successful. I had never tried acupuncture for anything before but we wanted to be pregnant so badly we were willing to try anything.

The first time I came to your office I came alone and I remember telling my husband afterward that, for the first time in a long time, now I had hope. I didn't know if anything you could do would actually help but you gave me hope and just that meant a great deal to me. The treatments themselves were easy and relaxing -1 think I only had 4 of them - the last one was after the retrieval of the eggs and the day before the transfer of the fertilized embryos. Two weeks after the transfer I went to the fertility clinic for a blood test and then received the happy news that I was indeed pregnant. It is even more amazing because I only had about a 25% chance of success on the first try due to other factors (like my age). I never dared to hope that it would work on the first try but now here I am over 29 weeks along feeling the baby move and kick all the time!

Xiao has helped me immensely. When I came to her I was in so much pain I was passing out. I have degenerative disk disease (Osteoarthitsis), multiple budging disks, and narrowing of my spinal column. The cortisone treatments (steroids) administered by doctors cause excessive water weight gain of 30 Ibs despite the fact I go to the gym and eat a well balanced diet. I also have 8 different skin disorders. Xiao used acupuncture to alleviate my skin issues and help my neck and back. Before acupuncture I was on narcotics to do simple things like take care of my son, make it to the gym, and go to the grocery store. Now I am medicine free and she used acupuncture to release the water retained by the cortisone treatments. I lost 10 lbs of water weight in one week. Xiao Hong Li has given me my life back. After a fall on a ship, I underwent three unnecessary back operations to correct the "supposed" damage to my spine. Pain was driving my life, and I was surviving day to day. Pain medication does not work for me. I have had gold shots, TENS treatment and every pain medication available.

With Li's help I was able to continue working and retire from Norfolk Navy Shipyard.

My world was limited to going to work and taking care of my animals without Li and acupuncture treatments; From January to March 2004 I was unable to receive treatment and I totally lost three months. I spent most of my time in bed. Barely able to cope with people and business matters, I lost not only time but money.

One Happy Testimony

I have been limited with hair styles to wear. About 30 yrs. ago I began to lose hair in different spots, due to health reasons.

I tried many hair growth treatments from several doctors, but with no success.

Just 4 yrs. past, I lost more hair because of a hair style that left a small bald spot.

I have suffered from neuropathy in both of my feet for approximately three years. This condition is found primarily in diabetics, but I am not a diabetic. It causes you to lose the feeling in your feet and sometimes my feet would feel ice cold like they were frostbitten and other times it was like walking on burning hot coals. Sometimes the pain and discomfort was to the point that I couldn't sleep and would need ice packs to get relief. I could basically only wear sandals because closed in shoes would cause so much discomfort.

I went to a podiatrist who did a series of cortisone shots and alcohol shots in my feet. I have tried various medications, physical therapy and every kind of treatment I read about to no avail.

Then one day I saw a show whose guest was an acupuncturist. He said they had found success in treating neuropathy. So I researched this idea on the internet and then found Dr. Li. After emailing her then speaking with her on the phone, I set up an appointment. I was very skeptical and very afraid of needles. She explained the procedure, showed me the needles and assured me it wouldn't hurt. After my second visit I started seeing a difference. The freezing was gone and the burning was subsiding. I have been going to Dr. Li for two months now and I am able to sleep at night and wear my sneakers again. I started with three times a week and I now go once a week. Now if they hurt its basically because I have been on my feet all day. I can truly see the difference in my feet.

After surgery to drain a cyst on my fallopian tube and a D & C, my doctor discovered that I had a precancerous spot on the lining of the uterus. It was advised by a gynecologist oncologist that I undergo major surgery to remove the uterus and at least one ovary.

My gut instinct told me this just wasn't the right thing to do at this time. I was also planning to get married in about 5 months. I decided to search for an alternative therapy.

I was planning to speak to my chiropractor. Dr. Reinhold, the following Thursday. Two days before my appointment with him, one of my clients came to me (I am a massage therapist) and told me she was going to an acupuncturist who was recommended by Dr. Reinhold. During my appointment, I asked Dr. Reinhold his opinion and he said that he thought it would help.

I made an appointment with Dr. Li and started treatments twice a week for about a month and the went to weekly treatments. She also included some herbs along with the acupuncture.

I had another D & C this past April and there was no sign of any precancerous cells.

I owe Dr. Li great deal of thanks. Had she not helped me, I would have undergone major surgery which does a lot of damage to nerves as well as muscles.

My first visit and acupuncture treatment from the very capable skills of Dr. Xiao Hong Li, was on 16 May, since that I have had two more treatments, one on 23 May and the last one prior to writing this testimonial was 31 May 03.

I asked Dr. Li to not only fix my arthritic knees and bursitis in both hips, but to also fix a nagging, but not painful, bone popping, bone grating in my right kneecap and resultant muscle discomfort. She said that she would. I didn't think it was possible. To my amazement she fixed the "sucker."

After just three treatments, not only is my arthritis on the mend, my bursitis in my hips is also much better, some vestige of pain in the right, and a little more in the right hip. Finally, to my amazement the grating, popping, right kneecap is completely healed. I didn't believe that she would fix it, like she said that she would, but she did it. Thank you very much Dr. Li.

This letter is to thank you for being the catalyst, I feel for possibly saving my mothers life. I brought her to you on December 2^ndseeking help for an open wound that was approximately 7 inches long and 4-5 inches wide above my mom's right ankle. She is 77 years old and was experiencing relatively good health until mid-July when while working in her flower garden she was bitten by what appears to have been a Brown Recluse Spider. After being treated by 3 specialist and receiving treatments from a Wound Care Treatment Center the wound bite site was getting larger. I was concerned because of the wound size, the excruciating pain and the amount of pain medication that she was taking none of which was lessening her pain.

SUBJECT: Pain Free

I am 62 yrs old and have had arthritis in my knees for the past 20 yrs. I've had numerous treatments like cortisone and other steroids with only a little relief for a short time. Last Feb. I became ill with tremors in my hand and slurred speech. They checked my medications, ran MRI's and Cat scans all to no avail. My primary doctor sent me to several specialist who couldn't find out my problem. They say I didn't have a stroke, but all the symptoms were there. I also was checked for Parkinson's, again they said no. My doctor recommended I go to an acupuncturist in Va. Beach, I told him I would think about it. As time went on with no improvement and almost a year had passed I decided since I was in so much pain I would have to try something different. I prayed and asked the Lord to help me find a solution to ease the pain in my knees and to help my speech and tremors. When I went back to my primary doctor I asked him for the name of the acupuncturist he was recommending. He gave me his name and I checked with my insurance, but he wasn't on their approval list. I went to the yellow pages under acupuncture and some how Dr. Li's name stuck out, when I saw she had a web page I went to it and read the testimonials and called her number. She was out so I left a message. On Monday I receive a call from Dr. Li and she talked to me about 20 min., I told her my problems and she noticed during our conversation that my speech had cleared up some. She said she believed she could help me; I made an appointment to see her Wed. the 12th of Feb. at 9am. I arrived at the office and we talked about my problems and how long I had them, then we proceeded to the treatment room. Remember I had chronic pain in my knees, so bad that when I tried to get up out of a chair I had to bend over for a while before I could stand up completely. Wed. and Fri., then another weekend and no pain so the next week I went Mon. and went back today which is Fri., still no pain in my knees, no tremors, and my speech is still good also. "I feel rejuvenated again"

I have suffered with pain for over 10 yrs but the last 8 have been the worst, no one knowing what was causing the pain finally 5 yrs ago they diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. After years of pain medications and depression medications and sleeping pills (by the way, when all else fails they treat you for depression) I finally decided to go off my meds and deal with the pain but by the 9th day I was in excruciating pain and could hardly get out of bed to take care of my kids and then I had to go to work (thank god it was only part time). On January 7th I finally couldn't take it no more and I picked up the phone book and looked up Acupuncturist and figured that I had nothing to lose, there was so many of them but they where all out of the office (it was almost 7pm) and when I called Dr. Li, she was still in her office and we talked for an hour and she made me feel so at ease that i saw her 2 days later. After the first treatment the pain was gone the moment I got off the table, I have had 2 treatments since then and am almost totally pain free, I can bend and touch my toes and no pain. My G.P. diagnosed me with a mild case of depression in June 2002. I had recently lost my father to a four year battle with cancer and I was experiencing grief, loss, and despair. My G.P. offered to start me on a “low dose” anti- depressant. I promptly refused the prescription and told him that I chose to seek an alternative method to treat my depression.

I’ve had experience with acupuncture before so I thought…”Why not?” I met with Dr. Li and we discussed in detail my symptoms. She asked many questions in our initial meeting, however, I did not feel uncomfortable. She put me at ease and I felt as if I could be completely open with her. In looking back on our first meeting, I see that this is a wonderful gift that Dr. Li has in dealing with her patients.

I had a few treatments with Dr. Li and then I went on to see her once a week for around 2 months. I’ve also gone back to see her on a few occasions when I thought things might be getting a little stressful. I see Dr. Li for sleep difficulties. I first developed insomnia, and rather severely, after my mom's death in 1986. Although this was a "common grief reaction" at the time, touchy sleep has become a problem for me ever since then. Initially, I sought help from a psychologist to work my way through the grief process, and that was very helpful. But even after that, I would worry about not being able to sleep and function at work the next day and, of course, that would keep me awake! A vicious circle developed.

I don't think people who haven't experienced an ongoing sleep deficit truly understand how debilitating that can be. One co-worker told me, "Well, if I had all that time awake, I would just get up and clean my house!" Yeah, right. Exhausted and vacuuming. Easy for her, a good sleeper, to say. Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up taking hard-core sleeping pills (Halcion, NOT a good thing), Trazadone (a relatively harmless antidepressant), more traditional therapy, hypnosis, relaxation tapes, a glass of sherry at bedtime, Melatonin, etc., etc.!!

The absolute BEST remedy I've experienced is acupuncture! I was living in my hometown of San Diego and having lunch with a friend who had some whiplash problems from a car accident and she was telling me about the acupuncture clinic she was going to and that "they treat sleep problems." I was very skeptical. I believed acupuncture was for aches and pains - not for such a thing as sleep, which I thought was a "head problem." However, I was up for trying anything and made an appointment. This was at an Oriental College for Medicine in San Diego, California. The treatments were given by the senior interns, highly supervised, and were very inexpensive. After my first treatment, I fell asleep on my couch at 8:00 p.m. - unheard of! Well, I was sold. I continued to go there weekly.

When we moved to Virginia Beach, my sleep problem kicked up again (move stress, looking for a job stress, etc.). That again became a vicious cycle of worrying about not being able to sleep and function on a new job, which in turn kept me awake, and on and on. I looked up "Acupuncture" in the phone directory and saw a physician for a couple of treatments, which were expensive and rather ineffective, and after that, I had no more acupuncture treatments for a long time.

While having dinner at the now defunct Forbidden City restaurant in Virginia Beach, I saw Dr. Li's flyer. I picked one up and tucked it away for a future call. And call I did. And I was, and continue to be, VERY PLEASED with her results. In addition to results, Dr. Li is caring and gives highly individualized treatment. She's gotten me in at the last minute on occasion. Her expertise in acupuncture and herbs is amazing and I feel confident when I leave that I will feel better. Subject: The Long Awaited Story from John Rooney

BACKGROUND: In March of 2000, having just returned from Taiwan where I had worked as the President/CEO for an international investment company, I had a comprehensive physical as a requirement for my Insurance Company since I wanted to increase my coverage by several $100K.

As part of the physical screening it was mandatory, given my age at the time being 51, that the lab perform a PSA test. Unfortunately, the PSA results indicated a high result, above the tolerable range allowed by conventional medicine, and I was directed to have a second PSA blood test. Again, this test supported the initial test results. I was then directed to have a biopsy which was performed and the results, on the Gleason scale, were determined to be a 7 out of a possible 10 and it was reported that I had Prostate Cancer on both sides of the prostrate. Diagnosed early but nevertheless, prostate cancer that needed to be immediately treated. However, at this time, now June, I was in England and had started a new assignment as the Group Managing Director/President for another investment company that three different food processing companies and had little confidence with the healthcare system in England to properly treat this potential life threatening illness.

It was decided by myself and wife that I needed to return to the States to see specialists that could provide any one of three different, conventional protocols. After consultations with a few different Doctor's who specialize in prostate cancer and fully understanding the "downside" of each conventional protocol from radical surgery to radioactive implants to radiation therapy and given my "youthful" age, It was decided that non-conventional therapy, including a strict diet regime of fruits and vegetables (juicing), Chinese Herbal Tea concoctions, nutraceutical supplements, and acupuncture could, when combined into one therapy, offer a viable alternative to "western" medicine which espoused eradication but not long term fixing of the real problem, an imbalance in the immune system.

Thus, through the fortunate search for an acupuncturist/herbalist in York, England, a Dr. Kai, the journey began with the objective being to "heal myself" by treating the immune system, the real problem, and not just the prostrate, the outward illness but not the root of the problem. Though working full time, I met with Dr. Kai three (3) times a week for acupuncture treatment and each session was evaluated by her for my correct Chinese tea "brew." Incidentally, given the "tea's" taste, no foreign body could survive this mixture of roots, mushrooms, plant extracts and whatever other ingredients were used to create my unique healing "brew."
